Synopsis for "Homeboy!"

The Strangers review the Ultras who received powers in the incident on the cable car and debate what to do about those they have yet to encounter. Afterward, Lady Killer tells them her Strangers clothing line has made them all rich. As the team disperses back to their daily lives, Yrial asks Zip-Zap if she can join him, and he reluctantly agrees. Once they arrive in his neighborhood, Yrial is recognized despite being out of costume, and she uses her powers to make bystanders ignore her. When she asks Zip-Zap about his parents, he reveals he never knew his father and joined a gang after his mother died. The gang finds him and Yrial and introduces their leader, the super-powered Gangsta, and his partner Brazen. Gangsta claims his powers derive from the Egyptian pharaohs and demands Zip-Zap rejoin the gang. The gang surrounds Zip-Zap as Yrial battles Gangsta. Finally, Yrial blows Gangsta, Brazen, and the gang away with a magical wind. Elsewhere, Grenade buys an expensive sports car. As he drives away with Electrocute, she uncharacteristically snipes at him. Zip-Zap takes Yrial to the abandoned warehouse he lived in before joining the Strangers. Having tracked them, Gangsta arrives with Brazen and the gang. While the gang holds Zip-Zap at gunpoint, Brazen battles Yrial. Yrial deduces Brazen and Gangsta’s powers are linked, and she subdues them both as Zip-Zap knocks out the gang. She explains that their powers are solar-based and that Gangsta’s work in the day while Brazen’s only work at night. Just then, a costumed man calling himself Pilgrim appears in a burst of light with his minion Byter. He takes Brazen and Gangsta as recruits, warns he will destroy the Strangers, and vanishes. Yrial flies off to warn the others, and Zip-Zap agrees to meet her at the team’s base. Before he leaves, he notes the spot where Brazen fell and says goodbye—she is his mother.
