TriviaEdit

  • In the early 70s, Dave Cockrum created an "intelligent, amphibious ocean creature" and pitched it to both Marvel and DC at the same time. Marvel bought the concept first and the Marvel character was named Manphibian. Dave learned that DC also wanted to include the same character in an upcoming Superboy story. After Dave alerted DC to the situation, the "Manphibian" character was reworked as Devil-Fish.
  • There are fan letters from Mike Flynn (Bronx, NY) and Dan Jurgens (Ortonville, Minn). Mr. Jurgens would later transition from dedicated fan to a DC Writer/Artist. In fact, he would pencil several issues of the Legion a decade later.
