The movie is based on Joe Kelly's "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice & the American Way?," the story published in the comic book Action Comics #775 (March 2001).
The film took some liberties with the original graphic novel.
The conflict between Bialya and Pokolistan, and Atomic Skull's inclusion are creatively added to the story.
