Trivia
- In this episode, there are some important callbacks to the original Crisis on Infinite Earths:
- Barry Allen of Earth-90 runs to death to save the Multiverse like The Flash/Barry Allen did in the legendary scene from Crisis on Infinite Earths #8.
- Harbinger/Lyla Michaels is tainted by the Anti-Monitor to kill the Monitor like her Pre-Crisis counterpart Harbinger murdered the Monitor in Crisis on Infinite Earths #4.
- Superman of Earth-96 dying in the arms of Supergirl is reminiscent of the iconic scene of Earth-One Superman crying with her cousin Supergirl dead in his arms from the final pages of Crisis on Infinite Earths #7.
- The pattern of naming universes after important years is also followed in this episode:
- Earth-203's designation is based on 2003 which is the year that Birds of Prey was canceled.
- Earth-666 is named after the number 666, the so-called Number of the Beast, as a reference to Lucifer's retirement on this Earth.
- Although it was never named on-screen, Earth-73 may be the setting of Black Lightning as it is destroyed just after Black Lightning was saved from the total annihilation of his ujiverse.
- The destruction of Earth-1 and the rest of the Multiverse was previously foreshadowed by Barry's visions.[2]
- The Vanishing Point is still devastated as a consequence of Leonard Snart destroying the Time Masters' Lair[3] and later being used as a base by the Legion of Doom.[4]
- The 1990 Flash theme is heard one last time before Barry's sacrifice.
- Just before his death, Barry reminisces a conversation, during his early years as Flash, with her dead wife Tina McGee which was originally seen in 1990 The Flash episode, "Pilot".
- Lucifer mispronouncing John Constantine's name much to his annoyance is a reference to Constantine's real pronunciation from the comics.
- Despite Jefferson mentioning his daughters' deaths, Jennifer actually saved herself from death by escaping into a pocket dimension that was created by the powers of Multiversal counterparts.[5]
- The Devil jokes about Diggle resembling his brother which is a reference to the Angel Amenadiel.
- Watchmen is revealed to be a famous TV Series on Earth-666, like Supergirl before.[6]
- Despite every DC's properties being now part of the larger Multiverse and having an omnipotent, reality-manipulating entity, the Watchmen series is never shown to be an actual Earth.
