The Lone Chipmunk is a 1954 animated short starring Chip 'n' Dale and Pete released April 7, 1954.
Plot[]
Black Pete is wanted for terrorising and robbing towns in the Old West. Chip and Dale find Pete has been stashing stolen money in their tree and take the opportunity for the 10,000 $ reward. They fail to get Pete twice and he finds them and shoots at them. Chip and Dale put up a comical tricking fight with Pete and get him captured by the cavalry. Chip and Dale ride off to town known as the Lone Chipmunks.

- The gag with Pete mistaking Dale for his gun was reused in the Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers pilot, "To the Rescue."
- The gag with Chip and Dale entering Pete to tickle him was reused in the Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers episode, "Throw Mummy from the Train."
- The short's title and the chipmunks' alias is a parody of the Lone Ranger.
