The Pink Panther in: Olym-Pinks, is an animated sports-themed special which first aired on ABC on February 22, 1980. This was the final Pink Panther cartoon to be produced by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises. It is also the last Pink Panther produced by creator Friz Freleng before his departing from DFE to return to Warner Bros. Animation.
Plot[]
In Lake Placid, the cool cat and the little man are in a series of Winter Olympic games (contradicting the fact there were regular Olympics later the year the special was aired). After several comical mishaps including being chased by a piano that seemingly wants him dead and an upside-down slide through the snow after falling off a ski lift, in the end, the panther wins gold medal and the little man becomes second.
DVD release[]
On November 6, 2007, Olym-pinks was released alongside Pink at First Sight and A Pink Christmas on the DVD collection The Pink Panther: A Pink Christmas from MGM Home Entertainment/20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
