Synopsis for "Collision Course"
Ghoul visits the Exiles’ guilt-ridden leader Rachel Deming, and she directs him to their grave. He tries to communicate with their spirits but cannot because they have been dead too long. Afterward, he joins the rest of Ultraforce at the White House as Hardcase tries to persuade the U.S. President to support the team. Whereas Hardcase, Prime, and Prototype are public figures, the other team members each have to introduce themselves. Hardcase explains his intent to work with Ultras around the world, starting with those in the U.S. He mentions Mantra, infuriating Topaz who blames Mantra for stranding her on Earth. Pixx talks her down using a projection of the First Lady. Outside, Prime chats up the President’s teenage daughter. Atalon watches Hardcase publicly introduce Ultraforce in a TV press conference and assures a human ally they pose no threat to his plans. Aboard Contrary’s ship, Prime and Prototype want to attack Atalon right away, but Hardcase seeks to recruit other Ultras first. He directs Prime and Topaz to find Mantra, but they start to bicker so Pixx volunteers to go in Prime’s place. Contrary finds Prime sulking and, playing off his insecurities, requests his help in influencing Hardcase. Fearing for Pixx’s life, Ghoul tries to talk her out of going, but he backs off after Topaz attacks him. Contrary tries to manipulate Prototype, but he rebuffs her and leaves. In Russia, Atalon and the Fire People assault a secret city dedicated to building nuclear weapons. In San Francisco, Hardcase tries to enlist the Strangers, but they worry Ultraforce could target them in the future. Before Hardcase can respond, Contrary teleports him back to her ship and briefs the team on the incident in Russia. Again, Prime and Prototype want to engage immediately, but Hardcase insists they first get permission from the Russian government. He calls out Contrary for her manipulations, and Prime jealously attacks him, damaging the ship. After Contrary has Prototype stun Prime with an energy blast, Prime quits the team, and she teleports him away. Beneath the Caribbean Sea, Atalon destroys a U.S. submarine, seizes its nuclear warheads, and raises an island to the surface.
