Synopsis for "Countdown to Black September part 1: Heaven on Earth"
Prototype is patrolling the skies over Miami with Prime when he picks up an emergency call. On the street below, cops surround a glowing green portal out of which steps the Black Knight. Prototype impulsively fires at him, and he flees down an alley only to run into Prime. The Knight slashes Prime with his laser sword, briefly causing Prime’s body to liquidate. Prototype tackles the Knight and drops him in the ocean. Prime and Prototype meet him as he walks ashore, and he asks to talk. They take the Knight back to Ultraforce’s headquarters, and he explains he is from a parallel Earth. Alongside his fellow Avengers, he battled the villain Proctor who had driven the Knight’s immortal lover Sersi insane. Ultimately, Sersi killed Proctor, and the Knight joined her in interdimensional exile. When he arrived on this Earth, however, she was gone. Hearing a commotion above, Prime and Prototype rush to the roof and meet Siren who declares herself Ultraforce’s newest member. Claiming to be a UN operative, she says she investigated a disturbance at nearby Metabio Research and discovered some experimental light creatures had gotten loose. In truth, they escaped when she broke into the facility to steal genetic data. Prime and Prototype agree to help, and the Black Knight insists on joining them. As they arrive at Metabio, a fleeing scientist calls the creatures Angels and says the area must be evacuated. Ultraforce and the Knight watch in horror as the Angels absorb a cop. Elsewhere, Contrary has just brought Ghoul and Topaz to one of her secret bases when Prototype calls her for help. She, Ghoul, and Topaz arrive in Miami to find Ultraforce struggling to evacuate people faster than the Angels can absorb them. The scientist tells the Knight that the Angels multiply geometrically. Suddenly, an Angel captures Prime. Meanwhile, Sersi emerges from a portal on the African veldt.
