Synopsis for the 1st Story
Dane takes Wetworks to their new base, an old Team 7 warehouse complete with armory, living quarters, and command center. Mother-One tends to the wounded Grail whose injuries are mysteriously not healing. At Dane’s encouragement, several team members head into the city for some downtime, and they learn a carnival is in town. In Washington, D.C., Frank Colby informs acting IO chief Ben Santini that Wetworks has been spotted, and Santini orders an operative named Dag and his team, the Nightstalkers, to eliminate them. Wetworks visits the carnival, including a haunted house where they are soon ambushed by a squad of Black Razors. The team defeats the Razors only to see gunships approaching. Dane, Grail, and Mother-One arrive to help just as Dag and his Nightstalkers deploy from a gunship. Dane recognizes Dag as an operative he testified against years ago for massacring Colombian villagers, and he is surprised to see Dag out of prison. Dag orders his armored men to take Wetworks down, but the team holds them off. To minimize the body count, Dane psionically paralyzes the Nightstalkers with fear. Dag retaliates by striking Grail with an explosive knife, cracking open his energy form.
