Synopsis for "Flavors"

A small boy threatens an ice-cream truck man with a child abuse accusation unless he gets a properly-manufactured cone. However, this situation is defused when the ice-cream man pulls a sub-machine gun on the kid and tells him to go away.

It is revealed that the man is Grifter, and he is running a stakeout on a particular school for the Wildcats, who he loudly insists are not a team any more.

At the school, a ditzy but beautiful woman named Bambi Devereaux and her genius daughter Connie arrive at the school for a placement interview. The receptionist tries to get rid of her, but the principal immediately asks her into his office. His less-than-professional demeanour towards the mother is deflected by his noticing from the daughter's file that she has an IQ of 273, whereupon he pulls out a glowing green crystal and takes control of the mother. The daughter is angry, but less than shocked.

In the van, Noir sees everything, but Grifter is adamant: they wait for their signal.

In the school, Smear makes Bambi grab Connie and leads them both down a hidden passageway, part of a Daemonite network that riddles New York and most cities. And at the end of the passage is a reassembled device called the Psiclotron, but centuries ago by the Daemonites but disassembled by them out of fear. Connie's superior intellect will power it, on behalf of his master: Kenyan.

This is what Grifter and Noir have been waiting for. They remotely trip the school's fire alarms, getting all the students out of the building, then Grifter transforms their truck into a flying machine and crashes into the building

In the labyrinth, Connie reveals that she is not what she seems. Specifically, she is actually Emp of Khera, and "Bambi" is actually Spartan under a temporary hardware modification. Smear feels ill.

In the school, Grifter meets Greenleavy the receptonist, who demonstrates superhuman strength. Upon learninng she is an android, Grifter shoves a grenade in her mouth and runs for cover.

In the labyrinth, Spartan and Emp question Smear about Kenyan's acquisition of the Haikyatu Armory. Smear, fearful of Kenyan's reaction, kills himself by throwing himself into the Psiclotron. Though he may survive, his presence destablizes the weapon, and it will destroy the school, Smear and itself. Emp tries to go in after him, but Spartan holds him back, revealing that he knows Emp blames himself for Kenyan's rise to power.

As the heroes break for the van, the emergency services arrive on the other side of the building. The Wildcats know little as a result of the encounter, but they destroyed a weapon and had some suspicions confirmed. They will have to try harder next time.
