Synopsis for "The City That Exiled Superman!"

A crooked city council member and a gang boss conspire to make it look like Superman is endangering Metropolis with his reckless flying. Before Superman can discover that they are framing him using a superman-shaped remote-controlled missile, the mayor is goaded into exiling him from the city. Superman is forced to use his wits to foil the gangsters and clear his name without breaking the law.

Synopsis for "The Case of the Taunting Targets!"

A wounded crook hides stolen capsules of radium in Green Arrow's special arrows, prompting his accomplices to hatch a series of schemes designed to make him fire those arrows at them. Meanwhile, a faulty radium capsule is slowly poisoning Green Arrow.

Synopsis for "The King of the Boy Inventors!"

After a three-way tie at the judging of the inventions of the Congress of Boy Inventors, Tom Sparks proposes a contest: the three finalists will prove themselves through their ingenuity in surviving one week on a deserted island. The contest is interrupted, however, when it turns out that a gang of smugglers make their headquarters on the island, and soon all four boys must turn their inventive powers toward the matter of their escape from danger.

Synopsis for "The Bird Sayings Crimes!"

After the Penguin receives a series of taunting birthday presents containing mocking bird sayings, he decides to use those same sayings as inspirations for crimes, and thus dispose of Batman and Robin.

Notes

The Statue of Liberty in this issue is a mirror image of the real one, and from context is located in Gotham City, but is not the Statue of Justice seen later in the series.
