Synopsis for "The Eyes in His Hand"

A landlord who used to be a boxer wishes revenge on the fighter who cost him his sight. He uses mob connections to have the man killed and occult spells on the dead man's eyes so that he can replace his unseeing ones. One of his tenants who is in debt to him is the dead boxer's wife and he wants to marry her and ruin her so his revenge is complete. The woman has a boy who she explains all of this to and he tells her that she doesn't have to marry the landlord because he is going to win a 2500.00 marble playing championship. The landlord chases the boys and slips, jarring one of his 'glass' eyes out. The boy picks it up with his marbles and finds that he can't lose when he's playing in the tournament. He resolves to get the other eye so that he will be sure to win the money. The landlord wakes when the boy tries to take it, but he hits his head and knocks himself out. The boy enters the tournament with both of the eyes and when he uses them, they move around obstacles as though they can actually see them. The boy wins and returns to his mother. The landlord has her tied up and the boy returns the eyes to him, but when he inserts them, he finds the occult spells used on the dead boxer's eyes no longer prevent his blindness as the eyes have transformed themselves into actual marbles.
