Synopsis for "Great X-Pectations"
At a Kansas City clinic, a doctor tells a young couple that, based on the results of a test he designed, their unborn child may be a mutant. At X-Factor headquarters, Wolfsbane argues with the imprisoned Hairbag while his lawyer challenges Val over the legality of his confinement. Suddenly, members of the Mutant Liberation Front emerge from a portal outside his cell and attack the guards. As Wolfsbane calls the rest of X-Factor, Reaper frees Hairbag. While Havok and the others come running and engage the MLF, Thumbelina finds her brother Slab and frees him. Elsewhere, Vic Chalker again dons his exoskeleton, but rain falls on the suit’s exposed wiring, electrocuting him. With Hairbag and Slab freed, Thumbelina orders the MLF to retreat through another portal their teleporter has opened. Havok stops X-Factor from following, but Polaris is able to magnetically pull MLF leader back through by his metal armor. The team grabs him and engages the MLF in a brief tug-of-war until Stryfe fires a laser at Polaris, and they let him go. The portal closes, but X-Factor has one of Stryfe’s gloves. Later, Multiple Man describes the Nasty Boys’ leader, and Havok realizes he is the supposedly dead Mr. Sinister. Polaris and Wolfsbane are walking through a nearby park when Cannonball, Rahne’s former teammate, grabs her and flies to a rooftop. Having seen her on TV, he says he came to rescue her, but Wolfsbane says her place is with Havok now. Polaris catches up with them, but Rahne begs her to let Cannonball go. Havok arrives and orders Polaris to stop Cannonball from escaping, but she refuses. At the MLF’s base, Stryfe orders the group to kill the doctor in Kansas City, destroy his test, and raze his clinic.
