Synopsis for "Prisoners of Fate"
In rural New Jersey, members of the anti-mutant Friends of Humanity intercept a prison transport carrying Rusty Collins and Skids and abduct the pair. In Arizona, X-Force returns to Camp Verde and informs Cannonball they dropped Crule into the Pacific Ocean. He tells them Professor X has asked them to rescue Rusty and Skids. At Xavier’s School, the professor defends contacting X-Force to Val Cooper. Rusty and Skids were being brought to him so he could undo their brainwashing by Stryfe. In Massachusetts, Grizzly restrains Domino as Hammer explains to Vanessa how they tracked her down. She agrees to help find Cable and X-Force then shoots the unconscious Deadpool and Sluggo so they cannot follow. In Earth orbit, a superhuman in a spacesuit forces Graymalkin’s remains to decloak and claims it as his own. Aboard X-Force’s jet, Cannonball shows the team a TV report on Rusty and Skids’s kidnapping. Soon, the team reaches the island where they are being held, and Sam splits the team in two to breach the Friends of Humanity’s safehouse. Once inside, X-Force swiftly overpowers the entire Friends contingent and frees Rusty and Skids. Still under Stryfe’s conditioning, the two angrily spew mutant supremacist rhetoric. Cannonball finds a Friends of Humanity brochure and talks with Boomer about the hate and fear between humans and mutants.
