Synopsis for "Child's Play part 1: With a Roll of the Dice"

Near Nova Roma in Brazil, Fenris attacks and captures Magma in their latest bid to join the Upstarts. Their other target, Empath, gets away by using his powers to briefly turn the Strucker twins’ mercenaries against them. At a Hellfire Club gala in New York, Shinobi Shaw encourages his latest recruit, the New Warriors’ Justice, to mingle as he tries to reconstitute the club’s Inner Circle. Unbeknownst to Shaw, Justice is working undercover to stop him. Dwayne Taylor AKA Night Thrasher is there, and Justice informs him the Upstarts’ latest targets are the surviving members of the New Mutants and Hellions. In Kentucky, Boomer and Cannonball have gone missing, and X-Force tries to determine what happened to them. Cannonball’s sister Paige saw Siena Blaze ambush them then teleport them away. Though a mutant shapeshifter herself, Paige was unable to help them. Worse, Cable tells Domino that X-Force’s scanners cannot locate them. The Upstarts’ leader Gamesmaster telepathically convenes the group in his mind and chastises them for their lack of initiative thus far. Back in Brazil, Empath runs to Sunspot’s mother Nina da Costa at a Nova Roman resettlement camp for help, but Fenris catches up to him and attacks. Fortunately, Moonstar appears and knocks out the Fenris twins with her psychic arrows. Back in Kentucky, Cable and Cannonball’s mother are discussing Paige’s desire to join the mutant cause when Trevor Fitzroy teleports in to capture Rictor and Warpath. Elsewhere, Gamesmaster telepathically watches Shinobi convince Justice to capture his girlfriend and teammate, the former Hellion Firestar.
