Synopsis for "Letting Go"
Domino returns to Camp Verde and finds signs of a battle. She tracks a life sign into the desert and runs into a techno-organic being who claims to be Professor. Renaming himself Prosh, he passes out in her arms having drained his batteries. He wakes up three days later surrounded by X-Force and hooked up to the bunker’s generators. Prosh explains he acquired his body when a Phalanx tried to assimilate him from the team’s computer network. Instead, the sheer volume of his memory overloaded the Phalanx, and he took over its form. Elated at finally having a physical body, he ran off into the desert. Prosh and X-Force joke about his energy consumption, and Cable welcomes him to the team. Days later, Prosh and the team play football while Cable and Domino debate whether to reveal his techno-organic infection is flaring up. That evening, Shatterstar detects an electromagnetic haze disrupting all the team’s electronics. The next morning, Cable informs Prosh he is generating the haze. Seeing its effect on Cable, Prosh says he must give up his body, but Cable refuses to let him. Instead, X-Force suggests Prosh absorb all their equipment and leave for space. When Prosh says he must absorb all of Camp Verde for mass, Warpath says he can take everything but the cemetery. Prosh says goodbye to the team and expresses pride at the man Cable has become. Later, X-Force watches as Prosh transforms into a massive starship and rockets into space. Cable assures Domino he is okay, and Cannonball wonders where X-Force will live now.
