Synopsis for "...Already in Progress..."
At the Xavier Institute, Cannonball and Boomer try to listen through Professor X’s office door while he and Cable meet. X-Force waits anxiously until Domino enters and tells them to leave. When Warpath asks where the absent Siryn is, Domino angrily orders him out. The team goes outside and watches Sunspot, now able to fly, descend to meet them. All except Cannonball walk away, uncomfortable around Sunspot after his time as Reignfire, but Sunspot says he feels whole for the first time. Warpath contacts Siryn’s father Banshee for her whereabouts, but he has no information. Boomer and Shatterstar go to the Danger Room control booth and see Sabretooth inside, relaxing in a pleasant nature simulation. In the Institute hangar, Cannonball discusses his uncertainty with Cyclops who assures him things will work out. Meanwhile, Sabretooth sees Boomer and Shatterstar watching him and lunges at the booth window. Cannonball catches them and starts to argue with Boomer, but then Cable summons them back to Xavier’s office. Once the team gathers, Cable and Professor X announce X-Force is moving back into the Institute to work more closely with the X-Men. Cable hands out new uniforms and says he will be communicating with the team telepathically. He and Xavier then inform Cannonball he has graduated to the X-Men. Domino and Caliban enter, and Cable declares Caliban is X-Force’s newest member. Uncomfortable with Cable telepathically entering his mind, Rictor quits the team, upsetting Shatterstar. Later, Boomer and Cannonball reaffirm their romance despite being on separate teams, and they kiss just before Cyclops summons him for a mission. In Vermont, orderlies carry a straitjacketed Siryn into the Weisman Institute for the Criminally Insane.
