Synopsis for "Transmission"
A Kree artificial intelligence named Pulse enters Earth’s solar system with an imperial Shi’ar warbird in pursuit. Charged with treason, Pulse insults the Shi’ar then transmits his mind to Earth seconds before they destroy his ship. At the Xavier Institute, X-Force trains in the Danger Room as Cable and Domino monitor them from the Room’s control booth. Cable senses a presence just before the electric power briefly goes out. Inside, Meltdown attacks a shifting mass of metal, and it morphs into the hostile android Ultron. Cable struggles to regain control of the simulation and warns X-Force the Room’s safety protocols are offline. Shatterstar eagerly impales Ultron with his sword, but it has little effect. The simulation changes again, and Ultron morphs into Deathlok. In the control booth, Cable senses the presence again and decides to contact the Shi’ar for help with the Danger Room. Inside, Warpath fights Deathlok until the simulation changes yet again, and they get separated. The team finds Deathlok just as he changes into their late alien teammate Warlock. Sunspot tackles the creature and flies into the ceiling. Meanwhile, Cable and Domino receive a transmission from Deathbird, the Shi’ar viceroy of the Kree homeworld. She reveals the shapeshifter is a sentient computer program and orders them to restrain it until her troops arrive. Siryn and Warpath use their powers to disable the Danger Room simulation. Cable kicks the door in to get inside, and the shapeshifter bolts past him. As the team chases after it, it reaches the Institute boathouse and recovers its core memories, remembering it is Pulse. X-Force intercepts him, Cable downs him with a telekinetic blast, and they take him back inside. Pulse explains he is a member of the Kree resistance to Shi’ar rule, and he carries information the Shi’ar do not want released. When he transmitted his mind to Earth, it immediately went to the largest node of Shi’ar technology on the planet—the Danger Room. The Shi’ar warbird lands outside the Institute, and its commander emerges with guards to take Pulse into custody. He refuses to detail Pulse’s crimes to Cable, and Domino scuffles with a guard. X-Force is ready to fight until Siryn and Warpath appear with parts of Pulse’s body and inform the commander that Pulse transmitted his mind off-world. The commander warns X-Force will be held accountable for Pulse’s escape, and the Shi’ar leave. Later, X-Force relaxes while, in deep space, Pulse resumes his mission to find the Silver Surfer.
