Synopsis for "Hazardous Territory"
Carter Ryking a.k.a. Hazard drags Professor X through the abandoned nuclear research facility in Alamogordo. They argue about the mystery surrounding their fathers’ work there, and Hazard exposes a secret sub-level to the complex. The X-Men arrive in the Blackbird, and Cyclops splits up the team to infiltrate the facility. As they make their way inside, Rogue confronts a standoffish Wolverine about his increasingly wilder behavior. He tracks the professor’s scent to the sub-level, and the team meets up there to find Hazard waiting for them. At the mansion, Jubilee answers a call from Cannonball. When she tells him she is the only one home, he decides to call back later. In Istanbul, Rusty Collins and Skids present Mutant Liberation Front leader Stryfe with a scroll featuring an image of Apocalypse, and Stryfe declares he will destroy the man. In Alamogordo, the X-Men battle Hazard until Cyclops blasts his control gauntlets, causing his powers to overload. Professor X tries and fails to calm him telepathically, and Hazard releases a massive burst of energy, destroying the entire facility. The X-Men emerge from the rubble, and Wolverine demands answers from Hazard, but he remains silent. The professor says there were no answers to be found there anyway, and the X-Men depart. As they leave, papers blow out of the debris which revel that Hazard and Professor X’s fathers worked on the Shiva Scenario, part of the Weapon X project.
