Synopsis for "The Ties That Bind"

Jean Grey reads Wolverine’s goodbye letter to her as her mother and Storm adjust her wedding dress. Afterward, she expresses her appreciation for both women. She also thanks Rachel Summers—her daughter from an alternate timeline—for coming, and they hug. In another room, Archangel and Beast struggle to tie Cyclops’s bowtie until Professor X enters and does it for them. He then declares it is time they move forward. As Xavier shifts from his hoverchair to his wheelchair, he drops his goodbye letter from Wolverine. Rachel picks it up, and he tells her he will read it later. Outside, Cyclops and his brother Havok look at all the wedding guests, including members of Excalibur, X-Factor, and X-Force. As maid of honor, Storm signals Lila Cheney and her band to play the march then walks down the aisle. Escorted by her father, Jean follows and takes her place at Cyclops’s side. The preacher begins the ceremony, Cyclops and Jean exchange vows and rings, and then they kiss. From a nearby hill, Sabretooth watches the dancing begin and thinks about interrupting, but an unseen visitor kicks him and writes a warning not to in the snow. During the wedding feast, the X-Men and their guests mingle and discuss their own relationships. When Jean tosses the bouquet, Rogue flies up to catch it, and Gambit uses his powers to catch the garter. For the last dance, Jean telekinetically lifts Professor X from his wheelchair so he can dance with her and thanks him for all he has done for her. Later, as Cyclops prepares to leave for his honeymoon, he says goodbye to Xavier and thanks him for everything. After he leaves, the professor reads his letter from Wolverine. It tells him to lighten up, and he laughs.
